But our surgeon-blogger also says "Malaysians don't recognize their Obamas because they have adopted and are comfortable with the cultural values of the majority; they consider themselves and are being treated as a member of that majority ... They are fluent in Malay, not the language of their forefathers, just like Obama cannot speak a word of Swahili or whatever language his late father used in Kenya."
